“As soon as I woke up on the first morning I knew we were in the right place!! It was such a beautiful home and garden. The peace and quiet and the comforts were great. After the early morning swim and my cup of tea, we enjoyed your tasty breakfast. Stephen was most impressed. It was just magic. Your input on where to go on the Cape was a help for us Aussie tourists. After the long day it was relaxing to sit on your deck for a quiet drink, to listen to the frogs and birdsand just talk to each other about our day. Your garden was most inspiring -- a credit to you.”
Stephen, Diana and Amanda - Melbourne, Australia

“Staying at The Sandpiper made for a perfect Cape Cod vacation. Your hospitality is unmatched, your breakfasts delicious, the room was a delight, even the towels were so soft and plush. We loved it here! The setting is beautiful as is everything about your home.”

“All my life I have lived and behaved very much like a sandpiper, just running down the edges of different countries and continents, looking for something.” -- Elizabeth Bishop

This private suite in a writer's contemporary home is the perfect find for discriminating seekers of a luxury bed-and-breakfast experience that's beyond the ordinary.

The Sandpiper is tucked into a dune in the tranquil, Outer Cape town of Truro -- between Wellfleet and Provincetown. Accommodations include a private entry, a full bath with shower and a separate powder room. The bedroom is furnished with a classic, fruitwood Queen bed and mirrored dresser, while the parlor room of the suite has a pullout sofa and a twin sleigh bed. The parlor also features a collection of antique and collectable dolls. The suite opens onto a secluded meditation garden enclosed in a bower of pines, heather, sweet fern, Lilly of the Valley and flowering Japanese cherry. The focal point of the meditation garden is a floating-sphere fountain custom-cast in concrete by a Wellfleet sculptor, who also created the distinctive Heaven's Gate sculpture that graces the entrance to the property.

This Cape Cod bed and breakfast offers lodging in an architect-designed house that, unlike typical inns, is in itself a work of art. You will enjoy home-cooked breakfasts on a centuries-old Chinese dining table, in the company of numerous Inuit sculptures. Walls are hung with paintings by renowned Provincetown artists. The tiered mahogany decks, where you can barbecue and picnic, look down on three cascading ponds -- linked by waterfalls and home to dozens of exotic fish.

A four-minute walk takes you to a private Cape Cod Bay beach and a beautifully maintained community tennis court. Coolers, beach chairs and towels are yours to use. Because of the extensive art and sculpture collection, we cannot host children under the age of 12. We also do not accommodate pets.
